Car Dealerships Whenever I'm getting ready to purchase a new vehicle, I make certain that I do my homework first. About a month prior to committing to making that major purchase, I start to do some "window shopping". I look through the weekly newspapers to see what bargains my local car dealerships are offering. Some car dealerships may be offering a guaranteed trade-in amount no matter what the condition of your trade is at the moment. Some are only offering the rebates and incentives that the car manufacturers are offering. I am much more likely to visit car dealerships that have more flashy ads and seem to be offering me something a bit more than the usual bargains I'd find elsewhere.
Before I narrow my list down to three car dealerships, I make sure I know what exactly I'm looking for. I know what my budget is and what I absolutely do and don't want. I'm not about to sign on any dotted lines unless I am completely comfortable with the final price and deal that I am getting. I pick car dealerships that I know most likely are in competition with each other. That way, I can always make a comment about a deal that I was offered by such and such a dealer and hope that they'll try to beat that price. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
Prior to buying my Jeep Liberty, I had visited two other car dealerships to get their offers. First and foremost, I was not impressed in the least by their sales staff. My first salesman told me straight out that they were not interested in having a sports car sitting on their lot. They didn't offer me too much of a trade on my uninteresting sports car. I walked out of there in a hurry. The second car dealership offered me a decent price but just lacked the service that I had been hoping for and expecting. The last of the car dealerships I had decided on was a little bit longer of a drive than I'd hoped for but I had been referred to them by a close friend. I drove my new Jeep home that same evening. My salesman went out of his way to accommodate my wants and needs and though the price was a tiny bit more than the previous dealership, I signed. I was confident that if and when I needed to have my vehicle serviced, I would never have any problems. Not only did I leave there in a new Jeep, but I also had a smile on my face.
Had I not done my homework and not been picky about what car dealerships I visited, I may not have gotten a good deal. Perhaps I would have gotten a better price, but I choose to believe that in having done my research I was much better informed. And when an informed person goes to make a purchase, it shows.
